Presence of blood clots or thrombi in the deep venous system of the lower limbs is of particular concern to Doctors. In fact, if a thrombus or part of one becomes detached and migrates through the systemic venous system (that is, becomes an embolus) it can become trapped in lung vessels, provoking an occlusion with possibly fatal consequence.

In day-to-day movement, the activity of deep seated veins is constantly stimulated by the contraction of the calf muscles. This venous/muscular pump favours a correct blood flow and therefore reduces the risk of stagnation and the formation of clots.

However, at certain situation, this natural function of the pump mechanism may become less effective. This is the case of persons who are bedridden after surgery (post-surgery confinement). These patients suffer from relaxation of leg muscles, deceleration of the cardiac pump and a marked reduction of blood-flow rate (stasis). In such cases, the viscosity of the blood increases, above all at valve level of deep seated veins in the lower limbs.

To reduce this danger, modern surgery has found the solution which, for its simple use and proven efficiency, and especially its reasonable cost, represents an ideal answer to the problem: THE ANTI-EMBOLISM STOCKING.

• Pre-operative and post-operative embolism prophylaxis.
• For patients subjected to post-traumatic treatments.
• For cases of hydrostatic oedemas, contusions and sprains.

• Open ulcers, dermattis, erythemas, necrosis.
• Doctor don't consider suitable to use.
• Intolerance to polyamide, causing itch and irritation.
• Wrong sizing.

• Elastomer yarn: spirally covered with a protective sheath.
• Open toe: enables physician to examine the foot more conveniently.
• Mesh: knitted with circumferential stretch (alternately double mesh) for greater durability. The stocking has passed the quality and duration test to guarantee at least 15 washes without deterioration in the technical characteristics.
